I found only five rose flowers out of the eighty or so flowers in the garden solitarily. All the other flowers have accompanying buds around the flowers.
It was a revealing experience for me.
The order in nature is companionship!
But the human companionship is still a distant reality.
The increasing number marital conflicts, neighbourhood quarrels, gender and racial quarrels, political animosity, conflicts due to hierarchy of positions at job place, hostility on account of ideology...etc to me is on the increase.
What I watch in the Indian parliament is 'attacking the political opponent personally' and speaking meanly. In a debate yesterday, I watched a responsible minister making denigrating remarks about a prominent opposition leader questioning his skills, ability, understanding...a lowest form of dialogue!
Was it any better between factions in churches in the recent weeks! It is the police which keeps two factions in some churches away from fighting!
Jesus of Nazareth had 12 companions, and some among them were frequent defaulters. Jesus held them together till His crucifixion!
Human companionship is God's appointed way for humankind!
A farm worker who has been working for us for six years stopped coming because I took a decision different from his suggestion!
It takes an effort to be in a reconciled attitude!
But disagreements cannot be a reason for the humans to abandon companionship- we all need each other and we are co-pilgrims in journey of life !
