The cat living in our property is a tree climber!
That is its hiding place when Daffney or Dulcie bark to frighten her.
All of us have our 'safe places' of comfort.
The cat hides because of fear and for safety.
But there is a calling for finding a 'hiding place' for communion, intimacy and prayer, form the example of Jesus of Nazareth, who used to go to a solitary place, early in the place. In fact His followers used to search for Him and find him alone with the ALONE, often in a hill top or seashore!
More than the solitariness of a physical place, it is the interior quietness and 'separation' from our world of thoughts which would offer our soul rest and respite.
I have been overwhelmed during the last three weeks by quick succession of external events that I have felt 'weary' and down cast.
This called me back to my habits which got drowned recently amidst the existential challenges of living.
What is interior quietness! It is a preparation to create consciousness about God who is the 'keeper' of our lives. When we get oriented to this reality, the burdens get lesser and lighter. This inner consciousness creates space to receive the grace of love which is what God offers! If we feel loved and received, then we live lightly and hopefully beyond the travails of the environment.
It is when we feel tired and crowded in thoughts, we ought to come to our senses all the more to return to the place where is God is present- in our inmost being !
To live hidden would also mean living protected!
