The arrival of Magpie Robin

I noticed a Magpie Robin yesterday!

For some strange reason, The Drongo birds are not sighted for a week now. But the Magpie Robins have appeared. They are singles in different parts around our cottage!

They are comfortable in human habitations because fo which they whorl even come close tot eh house and could be noticed in the terrace, parapets, etc.

I noticed three of them around the same time in three different trees in the garden!

Considering that it is the male bird that sings, I presume that all the three are singing for its partners.

As I watch this drama of life of the avians around our cottage, I am fascinated by their instinct to sing! It is its identity! It is through this birdsong, each bird makes known its presence.

Yesterday I came across a self giving service of a few people who waited in the bus stand In Kozhikode in their car  to ferry people who wanted to the Medical College for medical attention. With the general strike for tow days, the public transport and taxi services were off the road.

In Kochi, some families offered free meals to some tourists, who were stranded without food as the restaurants were closed.

It is most refreshing to hear and read such instances when humans reveal their true character of mindfulness for others!

The president of the USA, Mr Donald Trump is struggling with his passion to build a wall along the Mexican border to restrict the arrival of immigrants. But this is opposed by the democrats. So there is a shut down in the general service with salaries not paid for a while!

We live in  complex world. How are w etc live in a complex geo-political world, where opportunities are less and demands are swelling!

Yesterday the Indian parliament passed a bill giving 10 percent reservation for jobs to those hailing from economically backward communities. Already fifty percent of jobs are reserved for different categories of backward communities.

We live in a distressing times, when the destiny of people are going to be adversely affected by policies and politics.

I sense a call for greater philanthropy and self giving service guided by the call of distributive justice!
