The first photo of a bird in sleepy state! But between its naps, it showed every sign of extreme alertness! It was mid day at that time!
I found myself glued to this bird for over half an hour because of the way it stayed in touch with the environment during its sleep!
It is a fun to observe the behaviour of birds and it gives a lot of new information!
If only we can observe the bird movements and behaviour, we would be surprised by some patterns they keep!
I am almost sure some of the birds visit the same spot every day, almost at the same of the day.
They might do to 'claim their territory' and loose to the other avians.
But think of the experiential memory they keep for themselves. There is something in a tree or a place that would endear a bird to revisit that place! Often it is more than its food it might find.
It is through their bird songs they make their presence known to other birds, who can become the mating partners.
The instinct for companionship makes them itinerant flyers!
