Anna and I watched this at the Alumni gathering of the CMC Vellore, when a candle on the table was about to be lit!
The lighted candle was carried to the table protected from the wind !
A light symbolically is a sign of enlightenment!
For this enlightenment to remain effective, the candle light is the only hope!
Wha tis this enlightenment!
Historically, it is when we are made aware or shown the way, we become altruistic, mindful of others, conscious of the difference we can make by doing good or remain as the voice of conscience!
Light is perceived better in darkness.
I have a suspicion that the darkness of aggression, hatred, intimidation and violence is around us in the social and political arena in India now!
The light that can counter the darkness needs protection for it to displace the darkness that is thickening!
The candle light is a little light and yet it is good enough to be pathfinder for those who are searching for direction!
Each of us has a calling to transcend our self absorption to be light of hope, purpose and mission!
