Two happy occasions !

At Developmental Paediatrics and child Neurology, we look for opportunities to come together to celebrate occasions. This time it was Shalini's birthday.

The sense of belonging is what takes us beyond ourselves. 'I belong' is a message in depth psychology. The more we enlarge that sense the more we live freely, trustfully and mutually.

What makes us to be on journey to grow is the climate others create for us by their warmth and acceptance.

I feel good that the social climate in the department is refreshing to all of us.

The other occasion was the get together with some in the foster family. With the new batch of MBBS students joining the college, four more have joined our group.

There were a few who belonged the first foster group and stay associated with us. There are others who left for further studies who join us with their messages.

In a fast changing context where instant communication through social media is the norm,  I have a suspicion that we are losing the art of conversation while meeting face to face. The way to receive and response is by hearing others in a personal conversation. It is this knowledge of each other which introduces us to the strands that create the fabric of relationship.

With Thomas and Samuel at their best with innovative games the atmosphere gave a relaxing mood.

I heard some mention at the end of dinner that they wish for more conversation times in such meetings.

How do we start building relationships! It is by thinking of others and finding a space for them in our conscious mind.

So get-togethers would become an expression of this longing to meet for fellowship!
