The jackfruit tree is beginning to flower and tender jackfruits are already formed (first photo). It announces a new season. Most fruit bearing trees follow their own cycle. Usually the jack fruits are ready by March-April.
Just as the new jack fruits are formed, they are exposed to the risks of survival. In the following picture, teh young jack fruit is already attacked by insects and this fruit is unlikely to survive.
In the photograph below, one of the two young jack fruits has already disintegrated.
I noticed this during my walk in the garden today. Last week, the shoots and the fruits on the stem were not visible. They appeared later and some fruits did not last a week.
The fruits faced the odds from the environment, insects or something else.
This is the story of life in general. Every new life is sustained by multiple factors and the odds to negotiate through the environment are far too much for sometimes.
The nature's way is to continue its cycle. The nature gives fully all the time.
God is a giving God and nature follows that trend.
Humans are also givers.
Yesterday, a family told me how they decided to support the educational needs of two children in their neighbourhood. Both children have done well which make them eligible to get merit scholarships for further study.
Children are most vulnerable to hostile circumstances. I come across children who suffer because their parents leave them with grandparents and live and work abroad. As I watch the sad faces of children when they come for consultation, I too feel the pain of the stress of separation young children go through in life.
Out of about twenty children I welcome every week, about five of them live away from their parents. The grandparents are most loving, but that cannot substitute for the fullness of life in a family of their own.
