An outing to the backwaters of Kochi gave Anna and myself an opportunity to introduce some of the touristic sights to Mike and Sue who were visiting us from Brisbane.
The container port referred to as the DP world as it is presently licensed to Dubai government; an international convention centre, the Hyatt; the Port Trust office in the artificially created Wellington Island; the Dutch palace built in 1720; two boats for sight seeing; two bridges one above the other for rial and road transport ....
Most sights are historic and there fore are significant.
The backwaters, the river Mullperiyar and the sea meet here. This site is also the entrance to the civil and navy harbour, ship building yard, oil refinery, etc.
One hour cruise was a fascinating experience.
However the multi-storied buildings all along the backwaters spoil the natural look of the sea front.
The exterior of these residential complexes would need a coat of paint to redeem them from thier ugly look against the background of scenic beauty of the backwaters.
