Anna inaugurated the slow cooking oven today by putting all the ingredients for a duck roast. We will wait for four hours till it is ready for lunch.
The traditional way of cooking in the earlier days was slow cooking in wood or charcoal fire, which was replaced by pressure cooking when women found it necessary to reduce the time spent in kitchen. The several advantages of slow fire cooking are now being rediscovered and the result is a an electric ceramic oven designed for slow cooking.
As one can time the cooking for four hours or eight hours in this electric oven, one can just leave it to cook by itself, while one is away at work.
Come home to sit for a warm meal, which probably tastes better than the meal cooked in pressure cooker. It might become popular soon with many families.
The change phenomena that is taking place now is far too advanced for any one to cope with. But there might be some changes that might be valuable beyond just a fancy! Is this one of such innovation!
