The labour of our hands!

A papaya sapling we planted a year back is now bearing fruit!

We planted and our domestic workers took care of it!

Even the birds and the squirrels benefit from the fruits. Shyamala sometimes leaves a fruit in the tree for the them and plucks the fruit only if they have not fed on them!

This is the cycle of life! We receive fruits from our labour and offer them to others as well!

Yesterday, a family in  a dysfunctional state, with two children took a lot of our attention. Both children with different needs, mother in distress and the father distant to the realities!

The family has enormous needs! There is absence of efforts from the father! That is a big gap, which creates the disorder in the family! I felt the distress of the mother as she narrated her story!

The life in the family is lived by collective efforts. After supper in our home, it was the children who used to clear the table, when they were young! I recall this even now because it was one way there was a sharing of responsibilities to make the home a less labour intensive for any one person!

Our labour is a way of expressing our self-giving for the wellness of others! It is a labour of love and service!

A home becomes a family only when there is self-giving and mindfulness of each other!
