A sunbird pair!

I suspect that this pair could be  from the Maroon breasted sunbird family. I noticed this pair for a few days hovering over the trees and flowers in our courtyard.

The season form March to May is their normal nesting season. The nests are woven out of fine fibres in a protected foliage of a tree.

They are less than 13 cms long and are jerky and appear fretful while perched. However they add to the richness of a garden as they visit the same site a few times in a day, day after day.

Small birds, but elegant to watch with high musical sense in the bird song!

Every time I spot sun birds in our garden, I feel moved to see the place of significance they occupy among the avians-small and beautiful!
