A sickle for harvest!

I watched this woman harvest the rice field with a sickle, this evening while on my way home from the work place. She was alone and she had already harvested a lot by then. She might be depending on this harvest for her survival.

When farming is getting in to the control of the corporate companies, against which the farmers in Delhi have been protesting for 120 days now, I watched this woman harvest her field all by herself. For most farmers who own only small land area, the harvest is the source of their food for the next season. They labour to live.

The corporate companies labour to improve their profit. Is there justice for the farmers!

With the total black out of news of farmers protesting from the media and the government not allowing  a debate on farmer's agitation in the parliament, the central government has decided to crush the farmer's protest and implement the three laws, which favour corporate companies to make profit.

Does a farmer have a honourable place in our society! I feel disturbed how the media has also played in to the hands of the government to block the news of farmers living in the outskirts of New Delhi in extremely adverse circumstances.

Do we care enough!
