I notice that first time avian visitors in a garden look around and fly away, which is what the spotted pigeon did.
The other bird settled down and was already singing away!
It points to the different ways of perception of the environment!
What and how we perceive others and of the environment make us inwardly comfortable or uncomfortable.
It is not what is around us what matters finally but how we perceive them!
There is a state of inner composure that makes even a threatening environment less intimidating!
When MR Farooq Abdulla was released form solitary confinement last week, he spoke about how his inner attitude made it easy to look forward to each day! His was an imposed confinement for political reasons, which even the court of justice took time to look at. He turned his pain to a means of inner engagement of hope and consolation!
It is yet another illustration of facing each day from an inner orientation to life beyond the immediate circumstances!
