A beach without visitors!

The Kovalam Bach , 40Kilometers away from Trivandrum is the busiest Bach in Kerala attracting about five thousand people even during a lean season. We counted twenty one evening last week, when Anna and I  took a break to visit the beach, from Anna's role of supervising practical examination at the medical college. The hotels, shops and restaurants were closed.

All because of the 'stay at home' message to reduce the spread of corona virus infection!

For two weeks the shop keepers or hotels aha Eno income. The taxi drivers are without their income. The tourist guides are sitting idle. There is no hope or an early return to normalcy as the prediction of spread of infection is alarming!

Soon people would feel the economic strain and loose their source of income!

I wonder whether each state government would raise voluntary contribution towards supporting those who would have lost their job and income!

When life is hit by harsh realities, neighbours are to be the first respondents to support those who feel displaced!

My colleagues and I have made a plan to call the families who visit us regularly to enquire of their wellness! That would tell us a lot more about the extent of this challenging situation and economic loss!
