I have had to travel through maize of experiences yesterday.
The last one was a twenty minute conversation with a friend, who shared some of his long experiences mostly work related. Most of his experiences were strong enough to reduce his life to be a victim of circumstances. But most of what he shaared was a song of thanksgiving and joyful resounding of the opportunities in life!
I remember watching this sunbird being forced to confine to this fence by the chasing crows. So perched in a stress prone situation, it resumed its birdsong. To be pushed away from shrubs and trees was perhaps disturbing, but that did not change the nature of the bird to sing! Its song was its pair already in existence or about to be found!
Life is full of movements or displacements.
We move or relocate in our thoughts, attitudes and calling! Such a movement is a sign of transcending the present. The present is both an opportunity as well as a call for the journey ahead. Sometimes displacements come from within and not because of others. The displacement from attachments is often difficult because it creates disruption emotionally. However we do not embrace the future unless we are willing to be uprooted. The sameness is the second best in the journey of life.
There is a nest that a bird creates for the breeding season, only to abandon when the little ones are ready to fly out of the nest. It seems that most birds create nests in different places during every breeding season.
Life is a journey because of regular movements. Every move if it springs from within a call from within, and not because of compulsion of circumstances, the inner growth line is on an ascendent trajectory!
Each of us has a song of life everyday. It can be song of an ordeal or a melody! That is a choice we need to make everyday!.
I have a painting on the wall, done for me by a 12 years old boy, Ashwin, while working at ASHIRVAD Child Development Centre at Chennai in 1987, who had rheumatic arthritis and was in pain for about three weeks. While out of school and suffering pain, he painted the picture of Jesus of Nazareth with outstretched arms drawing a bunch of children to Himself. He travelled through his pain to move to capture the vision of the comforting God!
All movements have the prospect of giving us a new uplifting orientation !
