Silent mornings!

For several mornings now, we get up without the usual bird songs! The only bird I could find in the garden was this Magpie Robin hiding in the shelter of a bush in the rain! To get up to the silence of nature is a strange feeling!

Our dogs Daffny and Dulcie and birds have a friendship bond! They would not bark even when the birds come to rest on the parapet or in the lawn in the front. But if a cat were to stroll in the garden, they would be in a chorus of barking to frighten the cat !

Among some of the delights of living in a farm house, what fascinates me most is the avian guests we have in the garden! Although they are still not friendly to receive the food and millets we offer, or have not made their nests in the garden, we hope their behaviour would change to receive us as their hosts!

It is difficult to study a bird behaviour as it changes with season, food and shelter needs!

The avians bring their colourful presence, which in itself makes the garden a warm place to go to!
