All along the road, from where the water receded has this sight of boats parked on the road side. The ground floor of these houses were submerged for three days! Some of those who live on both sides of the road have been living here for sixty years or more! Some of them I spoke to do not remember the streets flooded for than for few hours, even when there was incessant rains for five days!
So the flooding was not caused by rain water, but by the overflowing river half a kilometre away because water was released from dam to the river!
It is a lesson for future, while planning to release water when the dam is about to overflow!
There is forecast of dry spell for the next few days.
Now the attention is to prepare people living in the relief camps to return to their homes as water is receding in some parts!
