Two migrant workers were engaged in a conversation about the prospect of fishing in this reservoir of water on get side of the road following the flooding! This is the spill over of water form the swollen Periyar river going through Kalady town which is twenty kilometres form where we live!
I found out that it is more than a picnic activity for them! They have no food and had to leave their home due to flooding!
Shelter, food, water, and clothing are the felt needs of those who have displaced by the flooding!
I wish these needs would be addressed!
