Sunday morning guest!

A bird pair of Common Iora arrived in the morning in our courtyard. While one was finding its feed from the bark of a bush, the other was tunefully singing from an adjacent bush. The loud whistle and the bright colours distinguished this bird from others. I mistook it for a Sunbird initially but its brilliant yellow colour and designs on the wings gave me the clue that it might of another species. It was the first time I sighted an Iora.

Th pair spent about five minutes in the bush outside our courtyard and flew away beyond the filed below.

It was a misty and cloudy morning. That denied me sharper pictures. But its beautiful body complexion, tuneful bird song, dextrous movements and well groomed body stood out.

Some birds are resident in our garden; some others are regular visitors. But the Iora bird pair  arrived as guests!

A garden is a place of new experiences for birds and for us!
