A Bulbul's Bird call!

During the in between time of the rain I walked out into the garden!

I noticed a movement in the direction of the banana plants near our gate of the compound. That is when I noticed a Bulbul safely perched on a banana leaf!

In a short while it began giving its bird call loudly initially and later in a hushed voice more tunefully! It sounded similar to the bird calls of a Bulbul for courtship!

Sure enough, another Bulbul appeared to offer companionship. This visible expression of togetherness lifted my spirit, which became a sign to me to stay hoping for companionship during my transition into retired life!

This inspiring sight affirmed the hope that Anna and I felt a short while before this, in the morning, when we read together the following hymn, during our morning time of conversation:

God of our life, through all the encircling years,
We trust in Thee,
In all the past, through all our hopes and fears,
Thy hand we see.
With each new day, when morning lifts the veil,
We own Thy mercies, Lord, which never fail.

God of our past, our times are in Thy hand;
With us abide.
Lead us by faith to hope's true promised land;
Be Thou our guide.
With Thee to bless, the darkness shines as light,
And faith's fair vision changes into sight.

God of the coming years, through paths unknown
We follow Thee;
When we are strong, Lord, leave us not alone;
Our refuge be.
Be Thou for us in life our Daily Bread,
Our heart's true home when all our years have sped.' (Hugh T Kerr)

Our lives have seasons and times!

Anna and I are in one such transition times!

The Bulbul's way of calling out for companionship alerted us about the way we can find our support and strength.

I think life is an open door of opportunities in all seasons of life.

To live abundant in the spirit of joy with a hospitable attitude of service is the calling before us!
