COVID 19 and life, Livelihood, Lost lives!

People loose life to COVID19 !
People loose lives to road traffic accidents in in India, while people walk home!
People loose livelihood because of closure of work places!
People loose hope as harsher days are ahead!

Some have referred to this a s humanitarian crisis.

The government is trying to reach out to people with some support although inadequate and rather late.

I found these four story dogs outside a closed court complex, asleep of resting during the morning hours. A pedestrian told me that the dogs wait here everyday as a neighbour comes around ten in the morning to feed them. The dogs have lost access to food as the waste bins outside the restaurants are empty for two months now and would remain for some more time.

The birds too hunt for food in unlikely places! Do they find!

When life almost comes stop a standstill for humans, avians and canines there is a question that surfaces within! Is this going to be the new normal with a second and third of corona infection wave predicted till the vaccine is available!

Usually such exceptional situations arouse within us a new consciousness.

A mother who is in the midst of divorce proceedings came with her daughter for a consultation. Her four year daughter was clutching a chocolate bar in her hand. When I enquired why  she was keeping it and not eating it, the mother said, 'She wants to share it with her friend in the neighbourhood'!

A neighbour consciousness or mindfulness of the other person next to me is the way humans used to think.

Now, the normal inclination is well revealed in the caption of an article by an eminent journalist in the newspaper today, 'Our selfishness makes us want to be self-reliant'!

Life is for living through learning and sharing!
