Earthen nest of a Wasp

I keep a distance from wasps, because I was bitten by them a few times.

I was in the sit-out, taking photographs of a Magpie Robin.  I noticed a wasp coming towards me. I waited to see its direction of its movement. Its nest was located in the adjacent Durian fruit tree.

As the nest  is in our courtyard, its presence is not so desirable.

The nest looks solid and decently made for nesting!

The opening to the nest is circular with good edge like what a potter would do with the clay. It makes it therefore rather unusual and calls for further study! Is a wasp so able and aesthetically oriented!

Another surprise in our garden!
