During a morning walk !

I often feel amazed at the end of a walk in our garden! Everyday there is something more than the usual!

The first photo is that of a Large Whistling Teal, perched at the top pf a coconut tree. I was not quick enough to get a front or side view of the bird before it flew away. The white tail cover distinguishes it from a Lesser Whistling Teal or Tree duck, which otherwise is similar except for the size. It is normally found in North India and south to the Deccan. It is an excitement,t to spot a migratory bird in our garden.

The second surprise was a Racket tailed Drongo (Second photo), which has an asymmetrical tail. Usually the long tails are symmetrical.

Barbet, Mina, and Koel (male) are usual visitors.

The butterflies are infrequent in the garden now.

The Lilies are just beginning to bloom!

It is a good practice to look for something more than the usual during a walk and we are certain to be surprised!
