While talking to the farmer who owns this field, I was shocked to hear that he had accumulated loss for four years. Yet he comes back to sow one more time in the hope that the next crop would give him some returns.
I was captured by his hope.
He reminded me that most of his fellow farmers also have similar stories of loss. As banks keep giving loans, they continue sowing!
The reforms in agriculture sector have yet to bear fruits. The present government in New Delhi is the custodian of industrialists! I sometimes wonder, whether the government officials are heartless when thousands of farmers are on the streets protesting in different parts of India over the recent changes in the policies which they feel are adversarial to them!
Some Egrets were companions to the farmers in this picture, when they were ploughing! It looks like that those who matter are not committed companions to the farmers.
Are farmers to be losers in life!
No wonder, farmers end up as losers! They are alone and their voice is not heard or yields no resonance!
Losers too are humans and citizens of this country! Do we care enough!
