Rose flowers in the monsoon.

All the rose bushes in our garden were pruned about a month ago. Now they are beginning to bring forth flowers!

The monsoon season is not an ideal climate for rose flowers. They get drenched in the rain and petals fall off soon.

And yet during the short time they stay open, they announce the resilience with which they survive a hostile climate!

There is a spirit within each of us, which would call forth that overcoming spirit in adverse situations!

The recent flash floods in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarkhand and the flood threat now in New Delhi, bring to focus the fury of nature,  when we have not attended to practising  environmental discipline.

We instead of regardfully and thoughtfully receive, what nature can give us, the consumer spirit within humans, make them exploit the environment.! With indiscriminate building activities in the hill side, deforesting, and excavating earth for making roads, we wound the earth, which them gives way  creating natural calamities of landslides, water logging and and flooding.

If we forcefully defeat the nature's abundant resilience, then we live with all the consequences adding to our woes and suffering!

We are users of nature's reserves, but ought also to be preservers of its eco-system!
