One of the sights that is common in the landscape of Kerala is the new designs which the old church buildings receive! So much so, one of the Archbishops of the Catholic church recently wondered whether the Christian community ought to be extravagant in building large edifices for their worship and gatherings!
Between our home and the MOSC hospital in that 20 kilometres distance, we noticed about fifty new houses built during the last four years! All of them have a 'designer' look. They look phenomenally spacious and elaborate!
I wonder, whether culturally people in Kerala are carried by an instinct to give visibility to whatever they build rather than prune it to the needs!
