Dr. Radhakrishanan, the former Dean of MOSC Medical College,(seated in the centre) retired from his service after thirteen years a year ago! This photo taken at the public meeting of the first anniversary of of the Developmental Paediatrics and Child Neurology department in 2013 is a special one because he graced the occasion as the chief guest at this meeting!
Anna and I have had several occasions to receive words and acts of encouragements from him. When the department was set up, it was he who graciously spared five rooms that belonged to the Forensic Medicine department, whose head he was then, when the management was struggling to find a space to locate us.
Dr Radhakrishnan was the founding Dean of the college and brought an atmosphere of cordiality and order in the life of the institution! He inspired, instructed, corrected and led from the front! He functioned as a statesman in medical education!
There are some individuals, who are also an 'institution'. Dr. Radhakrishan is one such leader!
