I remembered during the week end that Anna and I covered a little over 500,000 kilometres on road in 12 different cars since 1985!
The longest journey we undertook was from Vellore to Shillong few years back. We continue our car journeys. Often it is to Vellore now-a-days!
The travel on road has improved with better roads and technologically advanced cars.
In the earlier days, when our two children were young, car journeys were good family times of conversations and playing many 'car games'! Since Anna and I have often travelled on our own in the recent years, we have transformed the journey time for conversations and reflections. Anna would read from books that we have chosen for our journey!
Somehow, even now, driving to places bring me some excitement! It might be the desire to learn to drive restfully and effortlessly!
What we celebrate is the safety we have had inspite of the damages to the car in two major accidents!
I still look forward to some more years of happy driving, all being well!
