A goat on the wayside!

In our village goat milk is costlier to buy and not enough to buy!

The goat's milk is considered to be of medicinal value and some families offer only goat's milk to their children. In some ayurvedic medicine, goat's milk or ghee is an essential ingredient.

I watched this goat move from one foliage to another choosing to eat only from some plants.  As most of their food is foliage rich, the milk is rich in all vitamins and minerals.

We have a neighbour who gives us goat milk sometimes when she does not have enough cow's milk. It is thicker an tastes different. Coffee too tastes different with goat's milk.

In my village many families had goats earlier as each low income family was offered a lamb for them to rear to get a supplement of income either by selling them for meat or using them for milking. Now it is rare to see that families have turned to rear cows as they produce more milk!

A rural scene is complete only when there are goats and lams around.
