On a summer day!

The striped Lily flowers are just a few in our garden since a month. Normally there would be many in rows between our cottage and the gate.

Now there are some which survive the heat of the day. But some Lilies droop and fade away sooner than in normal times.

A friend was in the habit of visiting the drying flowers while they drop their petals and stand before them quietly for a while. When I asked the meaning of this ritual,  which he did regularly,  he reluctantly told me that it was his way of thanking the colour and vibrancy the flowers brought to the garden. To him 'all things were bright and beautiful and the Lord God made them all' ! It was his  habit to wrap the fading flowers placed in the vase in a nice paper and keep it in the waste box. He expressed gratitude in the way he quietly and thoughtfully did that.

Life on earth is a gift given to us.

The flowers and birds that have become the focus of my photography in the recent years,  bring something fresh and educative.

The flowers when they are alive or fade away, tell us in a metaphor, the story of our lives during different seasons!
