A Barbet's way of searching!

I noticed a Barbet inspecting the black paper creeper for a berry. It moved around the creeper in determination.

It spotted a red berry and plucked it (3rd and 4th Photos) and flew away to the next tree to check on the creeper on it. It did not have a ripe berry to be plucked.

Its next stop was the adjacent mulberry tree. It also did not have ripe fruits.

In disappointment it moved up the mulberry tree to inspect the branches above.

The fruits there were not ready as yet. The Barbet is sure to return in a day or two to find them ripe for a feed.

I had all the time at my disposal today as it was a holiday, to keep watching for bird movements. Yes, it is truly an effort to keep looking for feed. But sure enough they find it in their normal flight path.

It occurred to me that Birds are patient and have to face several odds. They however do what they need to do with a plan and purpose.

They are focussed and purposeful!

A message to ponder upon!
