In the twilight and thereafter!

An early morning view of a Tree Pie. May be it was its night shelter! I decided to keep a watch on its movement.

I have the following photos, when it was perched elsewhere in full sunlight! What a different look of the bird from the earlier tones!

The twilight view was different altogether! The bird was partially hidden in the foliage and
exposed to sun minimally.

Ou view of a  situation or an idea or information is influenced by many factors that work on our mind.

There is currently a controversy in one particular tradition of the Catholic Church in Kerala, as to whether the Holy Mass be celebrated by the celebrant facing the congregation or the high altar! This has led a faction in the church to approach the court for a uniform traditional practice.

The news papers which reported on this controversy also commented whether it ought to be an issue at all!

I consider this to be a digression from the centrality of the meaning of the Eucharist! The Eucharist being a commemoration of the of the Last Supper, in which Jesus of Nazareth participated along with His disciples and washed their feet, it is a solemn occasion of remembering Jesus, His suffering, death and resurrection! The celebration of the Eucharist is a time of internalising the mercy of God granted to each believer, and to draw strength from the life and mission of Jesus. Now another controversy has arisen, which sidelines the message of the Eucharist.

It is around the way Eucharist is celebrated, there have been controversies in the past, because of which some new church denominations were newly formed.

Which of us can claim to see the tree pie in its entirety in twilight ! Till it moved from its ambush and the sun light covered its body, we have had only a limited view of the bird. Is it not a message to us that we know now 'only in part and shall know in full later' according to what apostle Paul wrote in the last part of I Corinthians, chapter 13 !

We sometimes get besieged by our first impressions and stay glued to it! A child who came to the consultation room, seeing the flower vase, insisted to have one flower from it. I complied to his request. As soon he received it he pulled out all the petals and scattered them on the floor! At two years that is what a child would normally do, as a child is learning to use the hands for multiple functions. That child acted according to what was known to him.

I have sometimes wondered whether adults too, not knowing enough in depth behave casually and uninformed!

That is why I presume, that Jesus of Nazareth of Nazareth said to his disciples, that 'If the truth shall make you free, you shall be free indeed'! We are captives of our thoughts and perceptions. That might not be the truth in its entirety. It is a limited view on a matter that would sometimes make us assertive and divisive. Instead the whole truth would make us open and be patient towards other opinions.
