I had a fascination for this flower from the Mimosa family, during my childhood.
These flowers of 'touch me not plant' continue to fascinate me. One thing about them is that that the multiple filaments, although look slender and fragile, stay glued to the stem even during strong winds. They stay in the pant blooming for a week or more. It has a symmetry and an impressive appearance. Its pinkish colour makes it gentle in appearance.
This flower symbolises humanity.
We are attached to a common anchor of belonging to each otter! We are companions to each otter and held together in this bond of togetherness.
This is is a message of some significance at a time when humans create walls of division and separation.
As soon as you separate this flower from its stem it withers away. Each slender petal falls off.
It is human togetherness which creates the fabric of colourful society!
We can convert our homes, work places, neighbourhoods and public spaces to affirm this human togetherness, if we become mindful of each other and communicate that kindly!
