Now that we have some fruit trees in our garden, the fruits are almost perennial.
The garden has flowers and fruits.
But there is something special about flowers and fruits!
The flowers bring the honey bees, butterflies and honey suckers into the garden. The fruits feed the birds, squirrels, etc.
A garden is a space which sustains life!
Every time Anna and I walk in our garden, we get a feeling of how we are sustained by the freshness that these experiences give us.
The sheer joy of living surrounded by 'other lives' keeps us alive to the reality that a garden is a place of communion as it was for Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden when God visited them.
The joy of life is not in the abundance of things we possess, but is in the way we receive and give to each other the blessing of shared living!
