This Tit was a regular visitor to our garden, reappearing after a break of a few weeks.
It found its perch on the top of a Neem tree in our garden at day break, and spent about ten minutes grooming its body before flying out. I wondered if it joined its pair in the adjacent nutmeg tree. It was an acrobatic act of balancing itself on a stem with no indication of losing its balance.
This ritual which all birds strictly practice to keep the body flight ready is a window into understanding the bird behaviour. The birds attend to their body habitually!
When I feel lazy to walk at the end of a long day, for movement and exercising, the example of small birds grooming their body, comes to me as a reminder of the essentials in the daily rhythm of life.
