Bird Behaviour!

As I watched the body language of a Indian Myna, from a distance of about 150 meters, there was hyper-vigilance. I am not sure of what unsettled the myna. Was it a crow or a squirrel, both known to unsettle a myna! The fretfulness might stay on even when there is no threat as it has become a second nature to a Myna.

This took me to an inner journey! Fear resides within us, even if the external situation is not so unsettling.

One of the common reasons for repetitive dreams of a similar theme is the emotional volatility within! Somehow a particular emotion resides within with regular inner disturbances.

'Fear Not' is an oft repeated message in the Bible. Even when the message of announcement of borsht of Jesus of Nazareth was delivered to his mother Mary, the salutation from the angel was, 'fear Not'.

I took time to dwell on this message yesterday after seeing this Myna in a restless body posture!

The emotion of fear can be associated with an awareness of loss, invasion, rejection, humiliation, control, domination, being let down, denied of opportunities, etc.

But none of these can take away our identity. Fear is an external experience which comes to reside within us with frequent resurgences and expressions.

When I saw a two year old child run after his father, he appeared confident even when there were some steep steps ahead! He appeared least fearful! But his parents were! We instil fear by habit in others.

It is a life time journey to turn away from fear and turn it into an experience of no great consequences. Fear is a legitimate emotion to keep us sane and responsible. Fear is no more valuable than that.  I keep educating my consciousness with this reality so that fear can becomes less restricting or intimidating! Freedom from fear is a journey worth pursuing!

When we live free of fear we are more normal. That is my longing! The beginning int this journey path is to grow in respect for who we are and whose we are!
