I noticed this bridge being almost manually built, to connect the mainland in Alleppey district with an island, where about 1700 families stay. All being well by early next year the islanders would have road access.
The island has considerable tourist prospects. The bridge would be an asset towards making that as a reality. The tourism is perhaps one of the largest income generating resources for the state government. The liquor trade is another major source of income for the state government. During this festival reason the income from liquor trade was phenomenal in a week.
One good aspect of connecting an island to the main land is the scope and convenience for its inhabitants, in enhancing their opportunities for mobility!
I hope that the local residents would not have to pay toll for using it!
