I felt surprised by the abundance of colours in our garden brought by flowers and birds. They bring to Anna and myself a journey back into the starry night at Bethlehem, when wise man were guided by the star in the sky to find Jesus of Nazareth lying in a manger!
The colours around us bring an interior colourfulness to thoughts and perspectives.
Our thoughts are often coloured by our experiences or impressions and hence can be one sided or tangential. When the confluence of colours becomes the ambience within, we are more integrated and wholistic and less prejudiced, critical or cynical!
Anna and I needed this awakening within to be open to the array of colours that can bring cheer and hope because of couple of disturbing experiences that shook us in the last two weeks.
For an infant whether it is winter or summer, he or she feels secure in teh presence of the parents!
We needed a return tho this consciousness -'it is in God we live, move and have our being'!
That is while sighting these colours of abundance and variety in our courtyard, which brought cheer yesterday when the mood within was slipping to be gloomy!
The advent is a season of trustful vigilance and hopeful waiting, while we do what we are called to do, like what the shepherds did watching over their flock! They were awakened to a joyful chorus of the announcement of birth of Jesus. That brought colour and cheer to their lives!
The silence in nature was broken by the bird songs in our courtyard! The colours and songs bring inner experiences of awakening to be surprised by the manger in our mindspace!
