For this child, walking is an effort as her legs cross in the midline and obstruct the pace of walking! For three years, she is receiving help to overcome this. She is making steady progress and is getting ready for a surgery to make the placement of the feet easier for her.
As I watched this child make progress in her stride, her mother was by her side holding her to steady herself! Her mother was her support all these years to cross her obstacle.
But look at her cheerfulness and resolve to walk. Is she not an overcomer!
This family visited me on a day for consultation when as a department we were faced with an existential question about the income of the department and its financial viability!
At the end of the consultation it occurred to me that this child was a cheer leader bringing value to what we do and telling us through her efforts, that we make a difference to her future!
She is a wounded healer!
