It was resting the body while perched in the tangentially placed dry stem. It looks couched and restful.
The body posture of the same bird, while perched in an erect stem is one of vigilance ready to flight position!
These postures are inviting!
The rhythm of rest and action readiness!
Looking back over the last two years, I realise that the COVID pandemic displaced us from this rhythm. Most of us felt overtaken by a compulsion to survive an adverse circumstance. That too was stressful to say the least.
Now that there is s respite from the pandemic, how ready we are to return to our regular rhythm of rest and work!
It was after two years the department where I work invited children to return to the Early Learning Centre, where children with developmental needs are given introduction to be school ready. On the first day, yesterday, I realised how effortful it was to return to a path and order that we were used to!
The function of rest is to recover and be ready for action!
Sleep and leisure time activities are the means for preparing us to action and movement forward.
On Sunday I felt the need to be silent! It was as during the abstinence of the rush of the day, I foresaw a few steps which were cloudy thus far!
Practice a restful ambience as an essential prologue to action!
