These Babblers gathered in adjacent trees when it was getting dark and threatening to rain. They ceased form their collective bird song. The silence was conspicuous as their bird songs prevailed in our garden till then. That was how the Babblers prepared themselves for facing the rain.
Something happens within us when we have to face a difficult situation.
Yesterday, as I listened to a friend I realised how some telephone calls are difficult. Instead of welcoming a call, the feeling would be to avoid it.
One not so pleasant experience is the call I receive after servicing the car. The feed back calls come from different establishments who are keen to measure the quality of service. The irony is that the caller would even suggest that I give a high rating when the senior quality controller would call. The performance incentive, the staff receives is dependent on the feed back the customers provide.
The anxiety level varies from situation to situation.
What was interesting was the way Babblers communicated between themselves. The silence after a long spell of collective bird song caught my attention. They lessened the anxiety by behaving collectively in unison.
Being thoughtful of others when they go through difficult experiences is comforting and uplifting!
