Singing for Children during Corona time

The department of developmental Paediatrics and Child Neurology was active with a project for one week now, to create a series of nursery rhymes and actions songs for children who are home bound due to the COVID pandemic.

It is the first project in connection  with the tenth anniversary of the department which falls in September 2021.

The series now posted in the U tube has the following links:

Shalini, Femy and Femine spent considerable time practicing before the final videos were taken. I struggled with the videoing as the light conditions and noise free environment were not ideal for videoing. Shalini did the editing and uploading superbly. It was demanding and time consuming, but she endured it cheerfully. It was good to see Femy and Femine coming forth with good ideas and support during this process. The three voices of the vocalists blended well. The action songs were made alive by their enthusiasm and joyful demonstrations of all actions.

Although all three of them in the photo are easy with singing, I felt encouraged by their keen interest which made them get ready for the production of the videos.

This project to create a resource for parenting has been in the air for at least four years. Now that the extended Corona pandemic season has entered the second year, we felt compelled to express our solidarity with children who are home bound and cannot be at school for some more time.

It is a happy occasion for us in the department because we feel nearer to children and parents through this project.
