Sing and wait!

As I alighted from the car on Saturday morning in the hospital campus, I heard a Bulbul in an adjacent  tree on its top with interrupted bird song.

Its pause between the bird songs made me wait to look for another Bulbul close by. At least for ten minutes, there was no reciprocal bird song. As I noticed the Bulbul fly away, I remembered an earlier sight of a Bulbul joined by another Bulbul in response to its bird call!

At this time of the year when birds look for its mate, all that male bird can do is to sing its melody and wait! Its song is its only gift it has to offer.

In a conversation with some trainees in Paediatrics, a discussion rose as what is that we have to offer! It is our thoughtfulness and mindfulness! Its impact goes beyond what our clinical skills can offer.

That what I found with this group of trainees. I heard that they offered to buy a Pram for a child who has multiple developmental needs. They felt for the family who lives with a marginal income.

I was moved to hear this story as it was truly an expression of their mindfulness and thoughtfulness!

Doing good at all times as much as possible is the song we can sing to others! Our acts of kindness is our gift to enlarge the pool of goodness we need to counter the greedy acquisitiveness to be prosperous.

We make others to think and ponder when we continue doing good! A Bulbul found its pair through its bird song!

We will find others to join in,  in acts of mercy and kindness, when we show a small act of kindness!
