A three year old Jackfruit tree

A surprising sight in our garden is the Jackfruits in a three years old tree, which looked only like a sapling to us till recently.

What a difference from what used to be in the past, when one waited for fruits for five or more years! The genetic patterns have been artificially modified that we have jackfruit trees which give fruits through out the year. One recent phenomenon in the place where Anna and I  live is people converting rubber plantations to Jackfruit tree farms. There is a lot of demand for jackfruits, both for raw and ripe ones, because of the recent discovery of commercial value of these fruits.

We have another sixty year old jackfruit tree next to it which gives us plenty of fruits, which we can share with our neighbours!

The ten year old tree is also  flowering to produce the fruit!

The designs on the trunk of the trees held my attention!

No wonder that poets describe trees as ornamental! They have a look and appearance of artistic elegance!

A garden is a place where we meet with some profound truths which gives us a sense of the mystery in nature! This splendid tree and fruits originate from a jackfruit seed, which is oval in shape with two to three centimetres length. Its smallness gets transformed to be a tall spread out tree with branches towards the sky with fruits!

Yesterday, an orthopaedic surgeon told me that when he treats an infant with club foot, he thinks of helping him to walk well when he is an adult of six feet tall! His attention to correct the club foot has a vision!

A friend told me yesterday that a mother shared her long story of stressful times, at the end of which she felt unburdened to go home in better spirit! A small act of listening freeing a person of a burden!

All small good deeds have enormous potential for meaningful impact on others!
