The first photo of a cashew nut fruit had a slender stick attached to the nut horizontally , as if it was glued on to it. It was during the editing , I noticed the slender strands of a web of a spider, giving such a position to the stick.
The second fruit was resting on a leaf as if it was its bed to rest!
I noticed the third fruit accidentally as it was covered from all slides by thick foliage.
Each of these fruits had a message for me: the holding power of God, the prospect of inner rest; and hidden presence.
It was just yesterday I read about "deus absconditus, the hidden God and yet readily found by those who are willing to exist in the divine presence, accepting the divine claim on the living of their lives" from the book, The Fifth Dimension- an exploration of the spiritual realm, by John Hick, p43-44.
Finding the hidden fruit was therefore a worthwhile experience to have a glimpse of the benefit of a spiritual journey in faith, knowing that God is also a revealing God!
Let me quote:
"If we were from the beginning set 'face to face' with God we would never be able to make a free response to God. There could be no question of freely loving and choosing to worship One whose very presence utterly overwhelms us. 'Only because of the intensity of His manifestation is He veiled, and only because of the sublimity of His Light is He hidden from view'. We must as finite and imperfect creatures, have the freedom partially or wholly to shut God out of our lives as well as to welcome God into them" (p44).
The God of love loves us so much that He trusts in our response because of which He grants free will to choose to be His followers.
This is the truth about God, which shall set us free, about which Jesus of Nazareth spoke. (Gospel of John 8:32 ) !
The cashew fruits do not speak. And yet through their way being present in the tree, there was a silent message conveyed, inviting me to stay with it on a Sunday morning!
The message had a mystical element!
