A Sunday morning!

The wood pecker is a regular tree climber. One tree it climbs in search of insects  is the coconut trees. This sight above, on a Sunday morning brought an inner consciousness of the vibrancy of life a Wood pecker conveys. Its elegant hopping and sliding movements while climbing tell us of the dexterity it has evolved into while moving.  The downward sliding movement is also a well measured movement, just enough to search with its long beaks for the insects under the bark.

It was after three weeks I spotted a Wood pecker at day break in our front garden!

Another bird at day break today, far away on a tall tree trunk was a Bulbul with melodious and hushed bird calls !

A Bulbul and a light coloured Drongo were on this flight station, where Kingfisher and Cormorant were normally perched !

The summer onset seems to have displaced the normal flight paths of most birds.

The feeding station in our garden has no avian visitors during most of the day!

However the flowers bring colour to the garden!
