Avian visitors!

A Heron and Egret inland in a hospital campus, away from water bodies! These birds migrate in search of hospitable places because of losing the  familiar habitat. A Heron is normally around the cattle in its grazing field. An Egret is often beside waterbodies and nests in tall trees in the adjacent area.

Watching these birds in the morning in the garden of the hospital fascinated me.

One domestic helper in the hospital seeing me take these photos told me that these birds come to the campus as it is getting cooler and time for their breeding season.

These birds choose hospitable terrain for breeding. A hospital is a hospitable place. It is the incinerator and the gas emitted which sometimes frighten the birds. Fortunately this hospital has alternate means of waste disposal.

The large garden in the hospital campus well watered with rich overgrowth of wild grass and plants provide a good breeding ground for butterflies. I photographed about forty-five butterflies in a wide range of brown colours with different designs. There were dragon flies of different colours. This surprised me. The butterflies and dragon flies thrive when there is a favourable environment.

A hospital ambience can be a chemically toxic place, but thanks to the environmentally friendly policies of the hospital, the hospital campus  it is a safe place for birds and butterflies.
