Away from the flight path of the regular avians!

I moved my bird spotting site to a corner of our garden today to have a glimpse of the activity of bird movements. Usually birds move between bushes or trees where there are fruits.

I was surprised to notice a nest woven of leaves,  a Tree pie, Munia and a squirrel.

Most of the bird activities in a garden are around some trees. I observe three categories of birds in our garden. The Magpie Robins, Bulbuls, Barbets and Parrots form one group where they feel at home with others. The second category of birds are loners- Tree Pies, King fishers,  Koels, Sunbirds, Mynas, etc. They are found alone or in pairs and not 'sociable enough'. The third category of birds are the crows who dominate and behave threateningly towards other birds. The bird bath we have in the garden cannot be accessed by other birds as the crows chase them away.

There is a behaviour streak in each of these bird species. Some birds make deliberate attempt to befriend humans. The Magpie Robins and Bulbuls are those who hang around our cottage in the morning and evening. They sing and wait for us to notice them.

Anna and I spent lot more time in our garden looking for bird visitors during the week as we quietened our pace to recover from mild symptoms we suffered from exposure to COVID. Having had three doses of the vaccine we were still vulnerable to this infection. We were aware of the greater risk for senior citizens and took extra care to allow recovery.

What a privilege it is to receive the avian visitors and be refreshed by their presence, bird songs and playful behaviour! They live care free even when they have to fend for their feed and water each day!

This fragile Spider Lily flower in our garden was smeared with the dew of the night! It received what was given! It lives receiving!

The birds of the air and the flowers in the garden live receiving!

That is a calling which when received as the way of living, there is reason to stay restful and grateful!
