The attentive presence !

All the birds were perched above the feeding station in different trees overlooking the feeding station in our garden, where a squirrel was the first arrival.

Each bird had a particular body response in seeing the squirrel. Three of the Bulbuls expressed themselves in bird calls. That was enough to make the squirrel move out!

All the Bulbuls arrived at the feeding station once the squirrel left the spot.

As I watched the bird behaviour and their reactive expressions to the squirrel, I became little more familiar with the 'survival strategy' of birds. Their attentive presence and collective response to meet their needs are inherent in their nature.

As against this behaviour, I noticed a butterfly quietly gathering nectar from the flower in a quiet manner. I am not familiar with butterflies chasing each other away.

The feeding station often has food replenished two or three times a day, which is enough for all the residents birds and squirrel in our garden. That is gradually changing the behaviour of birds and squirrel towards each other. They are seen feeding together now.

When there are too many birds, the squirrel moves out from the feeding station and privately feeds on the food it carries to the grass beside.

The above sequence in the feeding station is a lesson in, how the behaviours of birds and squirrel can be changed. They are  less fearful of each other and relate tolerantly now.

The order in nature is for accepting each other and co-habiting!

I find this expressed to some extent in our garden during the feeding ritual!

This revives the hope within me about peace triumphing over strife and conflict!

During the season of advent, the birth of prince of peace, Jesus of Nazareth is remembered widely! The feeding station having a resemblance of peace from earlier scenes of strife, revives my hope in peace becoming the pathway for humans on earth!
