I have often wondered on the benefits of having a flower in a vase.
Apart from an artistic appeal it provides for the room, what is it, it can offer!
A flower represents the external environment in the room. This environment is where we live. As we spend most of our time indoor occupied with work at home or engagements at work, it is good to have a reminder of the external environment where every action of ours would leave an impact. The decisions are made about the environment in our office spaces. Therefore a vase with flowers in our homes and work places are symbolic of our environmental consciousness.
We do not even have to go beyond our courtyard to pick up flowers that grow wild!
It is a habit worth developing. The gentle presence of a flower on our work table might even help in creating within us a pleasant disposition because the flower speaks to us through its self-giving habit of sharing its colour and fragrance!
